TikTok Records All-Time High Downloads of 200m in Q1, 2020 led by India

The popular video sharing platform TikTok continues to grow at a high rate around the world based on the number of new app downloads. Data collected by Learnbonds.com indicates that in the first quarter of 2020, the platform saw a record 200 million downloads, a growth of 28.20% from the fourth quarter of 2019, when downloads applications were 156 million.
Downloads peaked in March when the app added around 75.5 million new downloads. This figure represents a growth of about 24.79% from the 60.5 million downloads in February 2020. Interestingly, the downloads in February were down about 5.5% from the 64 million downloads. January.

Downloads from Mexico accounted for 3.5% of the cumulative figure, followed by the Philippines at 3.4% while Pakistan at 2.7%. Egypt had 2.6% with Turkey closing the top ten categories with 2.6% of downloads. Downloads from other parts of the world were around 46.4 million, or around 23.2%.
India continues to be one of the main markets for TikTok despite having a difficult journey initially. At one point, the app was banned in the country over allegations that it exposed minors to sexual predators and pornographic content. However, the app was restored after TikTok showed it revised its content guidelines.
