Moline’s volleyball sweeps Alleman, UTHS impressively | High school volleyball – QCVarsity.com
“We’ve definitely been to Ella a lot today,” Moline coach Sarah Fetter said. “We were just in the system so we were able to lead her a lot in the middle. All of the hitters were excellent in action and created some one-on-one for our hitters. “
Moline was even more dominant against UTHS.
With DePoorter on serve, the Maroons went on a 13-0 streak in the opening set to increase the score to 21-5 en route to a 25-7 victory. The junior would end the match with eight aces.
“We worked to be really aggressive from the service line,” Fetter said. “If we can get teams out of the system, they become more predictable. This is when we gain more control on our side.
The second set was pretty much the same. A 5-4 Panther lead quickly turned into a 25-6 victory for the Maroons. The large wall Moline had on the net was unbreakable.
“I would say everything has really improved for us,” said Fetter. “Our passes intensified so we were in the system a lot, which allowed all of our dynamic hitters to be options at the net. Our discipline and consistency have definitely helped us take the lead in each of our sets today.
Moline (4-1, 2-0 WB6) has a showdown with Sterling, last year’s conference champion, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Sterling.
“It was important to make a statement today,” Fetter said. “We didn’t have a game last week so coming in at Sterling on Wednesday and then Rock Falls on Thursday we knew we had to play at our highest level no matter what happened on the other side of the net. . “
