Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner attend Louis Vuitton show in Miami – The Hollywood Reporter
Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner are back on the social scene.
Tuesday night in Miami, the couple made their first big red carpet appearance since they ended their respective terms with Donald Trump’s team at the White House by appearing at the Louis Vuitton fashion show.
Hollywood journalist spotted the couple mingling at the pre-show reception and noticed that they had reserved front row seats, which also hosted a number of stars and names in bold like Kim Kardashian West, Kanye West (now called Ye), Pharrell Williams, Bella Hadid, and more. The presentation of Louis Vuitton, which coincides with Art Basel, is highly publicized as it comes two days after the death of Virgil Abloh, the famous designer of men’s clothing. According to the luxury house, tonight’s show “Virgil Was Here” was featured in Abloh’s “loving memory” by paying “homage to the life and legacy of a creative genius” while unveiling his creations for the spring-summer 2022 collection. Kid Cudi, Offset and Quavo were among the models.
This isn’t the first time the Trump and Vuitton worlds have collided. In October 2019, Donald and Ivanka Trump flew to Texas for an inauguration ceremony alongside Bernard Arnault, founder and president of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton. The ceremony inaugurated a new Louis Vuitton workshop in a rural area not far from Fort Worth. According to The New York Times, Arnault was keen to separate politics from their luxury fashion business by stating, “I’m not here to judge his types of politics. I have no political role. I’m a businessman. I try to tell him what I think for the success of the country’s economy, and the success of what we do.
Trump and Kushner have kept a relatively low profile since leaving Donald Trump’s White House administration. They spent much of their time in Miami as critics of the couple speculated on where, how and in what circles they might resurface.
In a New York Times Last November’s report, fashion designer Batsheva Hay predicted that it would be difficult for the couple to fit fashion into all social outings. “The fashion world is rather ready to avoid it,” Hay told journalist Ginia Bellafante. “No one is going to lend Ivanka any clothes – she will have to secretly buy them at retail.”
For his part, Trump made his first public appearance in March volunteering at a Farmers to Families Food Box distribution site in Apopka, Florida. By a People report, Trump met with community leaders and helped distribute more than 1,300 boxes of food.
The food program was featured on her Instagram account, one of the few posts she shared this year. Among these was his outgoing letter of appreciation after serving in his father’s presidential administration. “The past four years have been an incredible journey,” she posted on Instagram on Jan.19. “As I traveled to nearly every state in the United States and dozens of countries, I fell in love with the American people even more deeply.”
The couple have not always received love in return, especially from critics who have often targeted the lack of political credentials for both Trump and Kushner and their support for many of his controversial policies and statements. father.
