Elon Musk sends Bezos silver medal after surpassing him in wealth
- Elon Musk once again overtook Jeff Bezos to become the richest person in the world.
- He told Forbes he would mark the occasion by sending Bezos a silver medal and a statue of number two.
- The two have taken pits for years as part of their continuing feud.
Elon Musk took a hit against Jeff Bezos after knocking him down to become the richest person in the world again.
On Monday, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX became the third person in the world to be worth $ 200 billion, according to Forbes.
In response, Musk said he was sending Bezos a reminder of his position on Forbes’ billionaire list.
“I am sending a giant statue of the number ‘2’ to Jeffrey B., with a silver medal,” Musk told Forbes in an email.
Bezos was the first person to hit the $ 200 billion mark when he did so last August. Bernard Arnault, CEO of the French luxury conglomerate LVMH Moët Hennessy – Louis Vuitton, briefly touched this brand more recently.
Musk and the former Amazon CEO have repeatedly outdone themselves for the title of the richest person in the world.
Musk’s shot at Bezos is just the latest in the ongoing rivalry between them. Earlier this year, Bezos’ rocket company Blue Origin protested NASA’s decision to award SpaceX a $ 2.9 billion contract to land humans on the moon. On Twitter, Musk retorted, “I can’t put it in orbit lol.”
Last month, Amazon subsidiary Kuiper filed a letter of protest with the FCC against SpaceX’s plans to expand its Starlink satellite network. In response, Musk tweeted that Bezos had “retired to pursue full-time legal work against SpaceX.”
